I've got a first gen CANON IP5000 - which I expect is very similar to the one you've linked. The quality is simply fantastic. Photos on photo paper are on par with standard chemical prints - I can't fault it.
You'll need to play around with different paper stocks and printer settings to get your sharp black text printing well - but once you've got it right, it's very good, and very fast.
