On PC:
Find default.xml in your local setting folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\%YourUserName%\Local Settings\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash 8\en\Configuration\Publish Profiles
Open the file in editor and find the line:
go down several lines and look for:
8
Change that to 7 and your Publish FLASH setting will always default to Flash 7.
You can also set in this XML whether your want to publish in AS1, set the automatic JPG compression and pretty much everything else.
