$4000? Who spends that much money a month, even if that includes all expenses? More importantly, whose income is disposable enough to even allow for such spending habits?
Nothing like a bunch of yuppies paying absurd amounts of money to live in small, shithole apartments in neighborhoods that once had charm (20 years ago).
Stay out of Manhattan and Williamsburg. And look around for deals in Queens. Perhaps walk around a residential neighborhood and look to see if any families know of open apartments. Family neighborhoods have the best deals and you get to avoid conniving brokers.
