mlp make sure your neighborhood is close to subway, preferably L. without forgetting L don't run from time to time - mostly weekends- and it makes you pay $10 for the cab if you are willing to go somewhere on time.
other than that it is good. I dunno, remember west part of the island is always pricey than the east side, the downtown is cheaper too since it is mostly commercials. this city is fucking expensive. but you cannot live anywhere once you are rolling
