dobs- then i guess we are discussing two radically different things. i was referring to marriage as in it all across the world as i would believe sair began it with. you took it to mean the US. in any event, i still feel that is a gross generlization based upon very materiarchal practices; i do not really feel many people getting 'married' choose 'china' or 'patterns' as one would say 30 years ago. but i could certainly be incorrect.
