I see everybodys point, and it's fair point. Firstly, a employee would always want a designer to do everything possible, ie, design, build, flash, css, asp, etc, etc. In a pervious job, I did this, and it has one massive pitfall, restriction. I think if you're a designer, you want to concertrate on design, but work closely with a development team, so your design look top notch.
At the end of the day, there are people who are 'jack of all trades' but I feel you only get better at something if you can solely concertrate on it.
