at one job, my office mate and i had what we called "the ghetto outreach program." he was black and from miami, I am white from NY. so the deal was he took me to a salon and i got cornrows, a do-rag, and some fubu stuff. i took him to hot topic and dressed him punk (i know, i know, hot topic is not punk rock, etc). the deal was we had to keep this up for a week. it was nuts, people at the office just kept shaking their heads at us.
so to answer your questions, i usually just smoothed shampoo over my head and then rinsed it.
