I agree that the many of the ideas championed by the web 2.0 movement have origins in even the very earliest days of the internet; the very 1st web browser was read/write.
You say “is just a market changing it self with the increased usage by the consumers” and you are right, this the very core value of web 2.0; to encourage and nature mass participation. The difference now is the barriers to such participation are greatly lowered. Anyone can become creator, editor and distributor.
