I don't understand why it is an 'outstanding portfolio'
I just can't see it. The to the site has some impact (the After Effects explosion) but is harding incredible.
Why the need to explain every minute detail of your work? The projects are on the whole not very well executed and the ideas and thinking are very studenty.
Which is fine, he is a student who has just graduated but I know a lot of students who graduated in my yeargroup who's work is much stronger with some incredible ideas. Work which has been featured in magazines such as creative review and eye, some who have even had books published straight out of college.
All I am saying is, well done Dave for putting lots of effort into your portfolio and promoting yourself incredibly well. But if I was an AD in the US there's no way I'd hire him as a graphic designer based on that folio (maybe for web design or marketing thought)
But having said all of that it's great to see someone working so hard and really caring about what they do. He deserves credit and commendation for really pushing himself in what is really a very crowded jobs market
