    I think that John Stewart was one of the best hosts ever. Totally relevent and modern, really in tune with things.

    And then it hit me why he's really better than many previous people:
    He IS a host.

    Chris Rock wasn't a host. Billy Crystal wasn't a host. They were actors trying to do someone elses job. Besides, all Billy Crystal ever wanted to do was tell the most PC of jokes catered to people in retirement homes in Florida.
