My girlfriend's niece is autistic. I think she's 6. Has never said a word to anyone, doesn't make eye contact, but can tune the whole world out and fixate on certain kid's TV shows like you've never seen.
She really likes things that have patterns. I've watched her walk down a big length of backyard fence and touch each board, and keep repeating that.
