noto true tank, if you follow the writing, they have mixed the original spider-man story with ultimate spider-man story lines. venom is right on the money in terms of timeline.
also in current spider-man storyline, venom is dead. eddie brock died of cancer and gave the black symbiote to scorpion. a new story regarding a scorpion/ venom symbiote has not been done.
so it would seem, that the usuage of topher grace to play venom works out as the venom in ultimate spiderman is very different than the amazing spider-man venom.
