for things like snowboards i usually just create a temp mask overlay with the board shape knocked out of large box covering the artboard and lock it on the top layer.
you can also create a clipping mask with the board outline but it gets to be a pain in the ass because every element you add needs to be pasted under the mask grouping.
easiest if you just create an overlay for development and then delete and clip with a proper mask when your done.
