GET AN INSPECTION!
no questions asked.if you lve in a damp area, get a seperate termite inspection as well.
if the house was built before the late 70's, test for lead paint.
check the foundation, get under the house and look for cracks or areas where it has settled.
check out the roof, when was it last replaced?
run the water in the tubs, then go in the basement and look for leaks.
take a (cheap at radio shack) voltage meter to every plug in the house and make sure they all work. also make sure there is enough coming into the house.
check out the basement and backyard after it has rained.
drive by during the daytime and nighttime and look at the area.
