don't count on stanford being any kind of influence on palo alto. the university is pretty much self contained in its own little farm, all the students live on campus and hang around thre. nothing much to do in pa.
stanford kids mainly go to the city (sf) to party. and silicon valley sucks. like I said, if you want a college town, head for berkeley.
