my godfather's wife was on her death bed. cancer. i tried to cheer her up by talking about her cats and how she probably misses them she'll be able to see them soon, etc..
everyone in the room went pale.
Her cats had died only a few weeks prior. She had the saddest look on her face.
i felt terrible.
