nah, i did a similar thing to bust my housemate stealing off me. when my monitor suddenly turned on in front of him, and started furiously typing out 'what the fuck are you doing in my room', he got a bit cagey, typed 'sorry man' back onto the screen, and left.
We had words when I got home.
i had software similar to yours, and just happened to be watching at the time. it also recorded the event to my hard drive for later perusal.
can't help with the IM plugin tho sorry dude, i haven't seen anything of this type yet in the torrent sites, and that's the sort of place it would turn up...
