a well concieved, strategic solution to a clear communications problem you (in your expert opinion) feel could be solved. demonstrate this through comps, designs, and creative brief that lays-out not just the solution, but creativly, their 'problem'.
example; you have looked at all canned vegetable brands and you think they all suck in their online presence and packaging design.
- problem?: a smarter design would set them off from all the other shit brands and thus produce a tangible increase in market share (use related/parallel industries as examples).
- solution: design and develop static comps providing a solution as you see it w/ C. Brief that outlines your creative. present this as a complete proposal to someone you make your connection at said company. if they do not bite, you have great portfolio piece. if they do, hold on tight for that ride...... ;)
