They can when it's a scratched up dirty X-box that doesn't work and a serial number that doesn't match the one on the box and was allegedly bought "2 days ago". Guy tried that when I worked at an electronics store at the mall.

(Feb 4 06, 18:08)HAHAHA an Xbox was the last thing I returned in this way. I actually bought a broken one from a police auction for $15, then bought a new one at Costco, switched it up, and voila, new Xbox.
