    I'm considering organizing by Foundry in FontExplorer but then adding comments like, Serif, Sans-Serif, Blackletter, etc., so I can create smart sets if I need to that have the genre of font I'm looking for. Does this seem like a good way to do this?

    i haven't played with the commenting in ExplorerX, but i don't think the info is attached to the font file... so all your commenting work will be lost if you need to rebuild your library.

    not worth it imho.

    fonts are not the same as mp3s which are modifed with track info.
