booooo... hate it when they say make it bigger. I still build for 800x600. Yeah, showing him stats is good idea.
Also remember that a lot of people don't run browsers full screen. If you make it a higher resolution it's got the potential of having side scroll. nasty, nasty, nasty..
Another avenue would be to check the widths on the other major corporate websites. What widths are they using? Bet most of them are the same with you chose.
