    The older software does not support it, so some designers who are not using up to date software, like fontlab 4.6 and up I think it is, I imagine have not converted their fonts yet.

    Don't forget their are two flavours of Open Type too, .otf and true type open type (.ttf). If I am not mistaken the true type versions have the ability for more advanced hinting control for on screen use.

    Also the one nice thing about open type is the fact that so many of the features that might be stored in seperate fonts, can now all be integrated into one open type font due to the large amount of characters and features that can be programmed into it, so I imagine simply converting to open type isn't always the best option long term until the proper time and effort has gone in to make use of the format properly...im not sure if that makes sense lol

    I am all for the change to open type, I actually wouldn't mind buying a few weights of Fedra, but I would much rather wait until Mr. Bilak releases the pro versions of the serif in open type format.
