if i was married, then i'd probably live in Upper East Side or even Battery Park City. It all comes down to how much you want to spend and what kind of life style you want to have.
if you got a lot saved up, then might as well, buy a place. because saving while living in nyc is going to be difficult especially for the first 3-4yrs of living there. think of it as an investment.
