Before you touch the mouse imagine you are the client and then ask yourselves few questions:
1. Why are you doing this in the first place.
2. What do you want to say (communicate) to the wider audience.
3. Who will be seeing it?
4. Define some style that you'll be incorporating - modern, vintage look, free hand, abstract, etc.
Write everything down. Sleep over it. Then go back to your computer.
