I say go for it man.
I travelled to the other side of the globe to be with a girl 2 years ago, it didnt work out as I imagined it might, but at the very least it was a hell of an experience and I still have a good friend.

'better to regret somthing you did, than somthing you didnt do.'id prob reccomend at least hinting at the prospect of you visiting to see how she reacts tho, rather than just showing up 'Eurotrip' style.
