I think it's a good idea. It's one thing saying you disagree with the ethics of large companies, but it's another thing having viable alternatives.
I agree the design could pack more punch, tweaked. I like the style of the illustration in the top, (a bit like the greenpeace posters of a couple of years ago) maybe make more of this.
