Usually people prefer japan over korea. I know teachers and friends who have gone to both places and say they prefer japan because there are more things to do and feel there's more acceptance towards foreigners. In japan there are more foreigners therefore life can be a bit easier. One fo the biggest differences between both places is that you get more money in japan. One teacher I had said she didn't get a lot of money and couldn't save any. But in japan she did ended up with a few thousand dollars more. This because the salaries are better in J and because it's easier to tutor outside school coz there are a lot of people wanting to learn english from foreigners and can charge a lot private tutoring and japanese are willing to pay a lot on lessons.
