skt, I have concluded that the full body of evidence would point towards the God of the Bible. There are legitimate reasons for this. After one concludes that there is a God, the second question should be: "Has this God revealed himself?". I found the answer to be a resounding "yes" and I found that history demonstrates that Christianity alone stands up under scrutiny. Not the religious medieval caricature that many are fed in universities, but, Biblical Christianity. Some of the reasons for this conclusion:
1. The reliability and uncanny preservation of the Biblical manuscripts which all harmonize and date back to the apostolic era.
2. The historical evidence for the resurrection of Christ.
3. The unique claims of Christ and the gospel message - such that it could not have been devised by performance-oriented humans.
Those are some of the reasons. Basically, I concluded that Christianity cannot properly be lumped into the pail of "world religions", for these reasons and more. The world religions i've looked at communicated a performance oriented religiosity which appeals to human nature and smacks of human invention. The message of Christ stands in stark contrast... I found.
