i heard 5 minutes of gore was cut to keep the R rating
anyhow, i dont think the point of it neccesarily to show gore, like what some of the other people have said, it more or less was trying to talk about the horrible things some people find enjoyment in as well as the pain and suffering in the torture. the revenge thing was totally old school styles and i think that really got me to enjoy it even more
