My Favorite Blog Software:
Expression Engine just released a free version of their most excellent software - I use their commercial version. Simply the most designer friendly out there. (www.pmachine.com)
Cute News - a pretty cool flatfile script with some bells and whistles (www.cutephp.com)
Text Pattern - cream of the crop IMHO of the open source realational databse blogging apps, from a design perspective
Other two I keep my eye on:

And I could never like wordpress for some reason..it's templating method just bugs me
