i9900, I think it goes for around 380 USD.

Just bought this printer last semester for my school projects and I love it. Great print quality, quiet, and quick. I use it quite often and and the ink tanks have lasted all of first semester and still going now. Only cart I JUST replaced yesterday was the black so far (I purchased in September). So I guess I would say the ink consumption is good.

Im sure the higher end epsons are good, but after owning a Canon i960 (8.5 x 11) I was really impressed qith the quality which prompted the i9900 purchase (for the extra colour definition and large for mat). But at the time, my friend bought an Epson equivilent to the i9900, another 6 colour inkjet from epsom. and the quality was horrible. It wouldn't print smooth vectors at all. We called Epson and basically they said no consumer level printer like that would print vectors smooth due to the lack of post script suppport in them. Which still did not explain why my i960 printed vectors great, as does the i9900.

As I said I don't know how this reflects on their higher end large format inkjets that are comparable to the i9900, but since then I was a little turned off by it and have nothing but good things to say about the Canon.
