Just before the holidays I bought myself a new archtop that looks like this.
If your just starting I'd take a couple of lessons. If your a visual person (and I'm sure you are being on here) I think it speeds up the learning curve alot to see someone that knows what there doing play what your trying to learn.
On a side note, the first song I learnt to play was "wipeout"
