I agree - I hardly use cash and save more money as a result - case in point - say I want to get a sandwich and coffee for lunch - means I got to go to the ATM and get $20 out. Most likely it'll be a foreign ATM and I'll be hit with fees from that bank and my own bank (+$3 to transaction). Then I'll go buy said sandwich and coffee - $7...leaving me with $13 in cash, which I'll probably blow in the next 24 houres on magazine/newspapr/gum or other misc. thing I really don't need to buy, but have the cash in pocket for.
If I use my debit card I pay my $7 for lunch and don't incur anything extra...presto - saving money
