Irreducible Complexity is just one facet of the ID argument. And it stands stronger than ever, despite the failed attempts at rebuttals. The only proposed naturalistic mechanism for building this type of machine is NS + RM. And it fails. It fails because the machine is irreducible. If you remove one component it breaks... completely. Therefore, all the components had to be in place simultaneously for it to function. Thus, a mindless mechanism cannot gradually build an irreducible machine.
