Look, the point is that the few in congress who were made aware of the extent and technology used for these "wiretaps" were pretty shocked. I don't think this is necessarily "wiretapping" but some kind of datamining of some incredible degree that includes all communications - email, web traffic, cel phone communications. In other words scary ass shit. And to think that these fuckers think it's totally OK to do this without even a wisp of judicial oversight is insane and anti-american to the nth degree.
Again, as americans we SHOULD be willing to sacrifice some security at the altar of liberty - if you want security go to a totalitarian conuntry. Real secure and trains run on time I hear. The whol epoint about freedom is that their is a price to pay for it..and it's usually in insecurity and blood.
