  Thanks for all the information: I have been to Portland 3x in the past year, scouting and drinking copius ammounts of fermented hops. I love the lifestyle there but I can see that it is a bit ethically narrow. Though on everyone was beyond nice. In terms of job scene, I think Honolulu is in the same boat as Portland, finding a meaningful design job is like finding the chalice of the last supper in your own ass.
