I flipped a Kombi (VW Van) in South West Africa (Namibia) on the way from Omaruru to Uis Mine on a dirt road filled with sand. Later, I was told that some sand has the same friction levels as ice. Two other people got tumbled in it too. I was apologetic to the two African students I had, but they were laughing. I was like kids, please, your teacher is an idiot. I smashed up this van and I wasn't even legal to drive there, so-to-speak. Long story.
