Re-linking media does not need to take hours (dependent on the time to recapture raw footage), and once fully relinked the only time would be render and output, I have had to do this with a music video that runs 3.5 minutes (director thumbing in system deleted files). The concern i would have for a recovery software is that you may potentially be recovering very large raw capture files, these files can be sensitive and the file size may tax a recovery software. If it did the potential for fragmented or out of sync raw footage increases. Then your time recovery the raw footage would be wasted. Hope it helps
