html only is too broad i assumed you meant non flashed based
but html only will be very simple in appearance and functionality
php, javascript, dhtml, xhtml, xml, css, etc. are all complimentary methods to coding with html
knowing these will also help you build something unique
...as opposed to copying something cool you see today
