I am a PC person, but have recently been using a mac when working on site. I am adjusting ok but am working on os9.
I have a 1.9 ghz. alienware dv system and and very happy with every application I run on it. It is a great machine for a designer for design, video editing, and 3d. It handles everyhing I throw at it and more. I am comfortable in the environment knowing that I can upgrade it anytime and put my hands inside the machine without thinking I am going to break it. I don't get that same feeling with a mac..but that is because I have not used one long enough.
do some research on both, play with both and get what you think is appropriate. I like pc's but macs can be fun. Your finished product will not care which platform it came from, and noone else will know so get the one that makes you the happiest.
