an Aussie's point of view:
99% of the population here condemns what has happened over the past few days. These bogans going around bashing up innocent members of the ethnic community are simple people who are easily swayed (by the media and other people with a mainstream voice).
It was sparked last weekend when 2 lifesavers were bashed up on Cronulla beach - weather or not they provoked it - who knows. I heard that they were belittling a couple of the lebanese lads..but who knows.its just that 1% of idiots who cant think for themselves who have sparked this - and its fueled with feelings of injustice by both parties. I think its also a territory thing, with the surfers not wanting the lebs 'stirring up trouble' on THEIR beach. for f**ks sake - its not our land in the first place.. its the Aboriginies!
