hey, i actually did this last year... drilled modelling cardboard for a project... buy a wood drill bit, set the drill to it's slowest speed (touch sensitive control works the best though, where you can regulate the speed and make it as slow as possible)... do some test runs so you can get used to the speed... also you don't need to apply amy pressure, so if the drill is heavy you want to hold it back almost.
