  Yes it was based on Akzidenz and originally called Neue Haas Grotesk, designed to compete with Univers, but was a commercial flop it was only when it was re-named Helvetica(Switzerland) that it became a huge success, and ironically it has become as neutral as the country it is named after. Daft eh?
