semantically speaking, "cool" can be traced back to Ewuare, which means "it is cool." he was a king of the Benin empire in Nigeria in the 15th century and awarded the name after bringing peace to the region. from then on, kings would add "cool" to their official titles, thus cool grew to mean healing and rebirth and later composure or balance in an individual.
