A man with an abscessed tooth went to a faith healer. A large crowd gathered to watch. The healer pulled out the tooth. Several minutes later, there was a trickle of blood, followed by a column of live black ants marching out of the patient's mouth. The crowd roared with laughter. The healer had promised that the pain would leave. In local dialect, the word for "pain" was the same for "ant".
