It is serious, it just also takes place on myspace.
Honestly, that doesn't dumb it down. Taking it to myspace is just an additional outlet for this person to do and say things they are in public amongst common friends. The same people are on myspace.
They don't directly call out the person, but it's obvious what they're talking about, and who. Everyone knows.
