Is it really posible to say for a 'fact' that anything having to do with aesthetics or concepts is right, or wrong? Of course not because its impossible to quantify such things as absolute.

in some sense it is true. but you can provide relative comments than personal opinion of "that you just dont like it and its not graphic design".
you can break down a design. the rational as a designer makes survive. when a client asks you why you put the image in the way that you have put it, you have to justify what you have done. as how i see, as a designer, you will be defending your work till the end.
if you feel that there is no need for justification nor factual evidence to back up your work, than you should be doing more fine arts.
i have been a jr designer unable to defend my work excepting saying "it just works" but thats not good enough. for many of us, it comes naturally to see things in a balance or off set to create harmony that is visually pleasing (me not one of them). just by saying " i think it looks good" is not a valid arguement to justify your thinking and metholds behind it.
