Yeah and I think I deserve 150k a year but I'm being realistic. You need to know your market, your skills and your experience. It also matters how big the company is. Based on your experience you arent going to make more than 40k a year. Thats just the way is it. Just cause you think you deserve more doesnt mean you are right. Smaller companies pay less than what the standard is, and it seems like you work for one.
Dont get all fired up cause you THINK you deserve more. You have to work your way up like everyone else. Youll get there one day and it will be worth it. I busted my ass just like you for 35k a year and in 6 years I almost tripled that amount.
For having 1.5 years experience with a small company 35k in NYC sounds just about right.
