axis - a soundtrack for life - whole album is good...
the avalanches have some quirky upbeat instrumental stuff too... their first EP was El Producto from memory...
sorry if my recommendations are a bit off today, i'm going thru ex-gf things, and my listening tastes don't have their usual upbeat attitude... i'll be over it by this arvo, and hopefully make some more recommendations... u gotta have good music...
