    i bought the 17" 2 weeks ago to use over the holidays while i'm traveling, visiting family, etc.

    i haven't had any problems at all traveling with it. unless you're a total weenie, the extra 1 or 2lbs shouldn't make a difference.

    i can comfortably work on a 1200x800 photoshop canvas with palettes and toolbars open with no issues whatsoever. it's sweet!
